Nursing Informatics Nano-Course Successfully Piloted at COC Ferizaj

The first Nursing Informatics nano-course was successfully piloted at COC Ferizaj with 10th-grade students during September and October. The pilot course was delivered over six weeks, covering six thematic modules designed to introduce students to the role of digital technologies in modern healthcare.

A total of 24 students participated in the pilot, with 22 students completing the pre-test assessment. The average age of participants was 15 years. Initial findings revealed that students reported low confidence in using digital technologies (2.4/5), while simultaneously expressing a strong positive attitude toward the use of technology in healthcare (3.7/5). These results highlight both the existing skills gap and the strong motivation among students to engage with digital health tools.

The pilot demonstrated excellent performance by both teachers and students, confirming the relevance and accessibility of the course content for vocational secondary education. Beyond technical knowledge, the nano-course contributed to the development of essential 21st-century competencies, including data analysis, digital communication, and technology-enabled problem solving.

Importantly, the Nursing Informatics nano-course serves not only as an educational initiative but also as a strategic intervention aimed at preparing the future nursing workforce for emerging roles within the evolving healthcare ecosystem. The pilot provides a scalable and replicable model that can support the long-term strengthening of nursing education and workforce capacity at the national level.

Following the successful implementation of this nano-course, CoC plans to continue expanding its digital health curriculum and is dedicated to delivering high-quality, future-oriented education that aligns with international standards.
