Partners of the NURIC project gathered in Athens, Greece, on 12–13 March 2026 for the 10th Consortium Meeting, hosted by CreThiDev. The meeting brought together representatives from partner institutions across Europe and beyond to review the progress of the project, exchange experiences from pilot implementations, and plan the next steps toward strengthening digital competencies in nursing education.

Reviewing Progress of Pilot Activities
A central focus of the meeting was the progress of the pilot courses in nursing informatics and digital health implemented across partner institutions. These pilots aim to equip nursing students and professionals with the digital competencies required in modern healthcare systems.
At Sheba Medical Center in Israel, pilot courses developed jointly with HIT have already completed seven training modules, with an eighth nearing completion. The courses combine online and face-to-face learning and are designed for professional nurses. Topics such as machine learning, data quality, and AI literacy are integrated into the curriculum to support nurses in effectively using digital technologies in clinical practice.
Successful Implementation in Kosovo
Significant progress was also reported in Kosovo, where pilot activities were implemented at both vocational and higher education levels.
At COC Ferizaj, three modules targeting students aged 15–17 were delivered between September 2025 and February 2026. Around 20–24 students participated in each module, guided by teachers trained through the NURIC Train-the-Teachers programme. The pilot demonstrated strong student engagement and interest in digital health topics, and discussions have already begun with the Chamber of Nurses and the Ministry of Education to expand these modules to other nursing schools in the country.
At Universum College, five modules were integrated into the Bachelor’s programme in Nursing, engaging around 45 students per module. In addition, two pilot courses targeting registered nurses were organised. The first training on “Digital Transformation in Nursing – From AI to Telehealth”, accredited by the Kosovo Chamber of Nurses, attracted 81 participants, demonstrating strong demand for continuing education in digital health topics.
Positive Feedback and Learning Outcomes
Evaluation results presented during the meeting show encouraging outcomes. Surveys conducted among students and participants revealed high satisfaction levels and significant increases in digital competencies following the training activities. The results confirm the relevance of the project’s focus on integrating digital technologies and nursing informatics into nursing education programmes. Participants also highlighted the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration between healthcare, information technology, and education sectors to address emerging challenges in digital healthcare systems.
Another important topic discussed during the meeting was the repository of learning materials, which serves as a platform for sharing open educational resources developed within the project. Partners will continue to expand the repository with new materials generated during the pilot phase, ensuring that resources remain accessible to educators and institutions even after the project ends. The consortium also reviewed dissemination activities, including newsletters, LinkedIn outreach, and updates on the project website. These activities have contributed to increasing visibility and engagement among stakeholders across Europe.
