Despite ongoing challenges and demanding working environments, capacity building in healthcare continues to move forward. As part of the NURIC project activities, a new training session on Healthcare Data Cybersecurity was successfully delivered for senior nurses at Sheba Medical Center, reinforcing the project’s commitment to strengthening digital competencies in the healthcare sector.
The session was led by Einan Lichterman from Holon Institute of Technology (HIT) and focused on the intersection of healthcare, data management, and cybersecurity. With the increasing digitalisation of healthcare systems, the protection of sensitive patient data and the secure use of digital tools have become critical priorities for healthcare professionals.
This training addressed key topics such as data protection, cybersecurity awareness, and the safe handling of digital health information. By combining theoretical insights with practical perspectives, the session aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate an increasingly digital healthcare environment.

The initiative reflects the broader objectives of the NURIC project, which seeks to enhance nursing education and professional development by integrating digital and technological competencies into healthcare training. Strengthening cybersecurity awareness among healthcare professionals is particularly important, as digital health systems continue to expand and play a central role in patient care and healthcare management.
Participants actively engaged in discussions and knowledge exchange, highlighting the relevance of the topic and the need for continuous upskilling in this area. The session also demonstrated the importance of international collaboration, bringing together expertise from different institutions to address common challenges in modern healthcare.
Through activities such as this training, the NURIC project continues to contribute to building a more resilient, digitally skilled, and future-ready healthcare workforce. Further sessions are planned to expand the scope of training and support healthcare professionals in adapting to ongoing technological transformation.
